Heal all skin conditions, Internal Work
Eczema, Rosacea, Clearer Skin, Dry Skin, Acne, you name it
You have probably heard by now that a skin issue is an internal issue but you don’t know exactly what that means and what it actually takes to achieve? This article is for you!
One of my friends Nancy-Founder of @gameelaskin (follow her on Instagram). inspired this article and topic.
Nancy cares deeply about her clients and the health of our skin, she is always learning and growing in her holistic skin care business and lifestyle.
Personally, I, Samantha, have healed myself and/or my daughters from Rosacea, Chronic Urticaria, Eczema and Acne. It can be challenging and overwhelming especially when we are fed things like “your body is attacking itself”, “it is idiopathic and nothing natural can help you”. I am here to show you the natural way to help with a sustainable life and health that will serve you for years to come.
My goal as a “Natural Nurse” is to help you live the most natural life you can and create more freedom for you from your health and mindset struggles.
If you’re new here, WELCOME, BIENVENUE! I am so happy you are here! I go live every Thursday at 1:30 pm CST here on SUBSTACK and I answer any health and lifestyle related questions, so be sure to subscribe so you can get an email each time I publish a new article and when I go live.
Now let’s get started and dive in…bring an open mind and an open heart because both are required for self-healing.
Many skin issues are labeled as “lifelong” such as rosacea, psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema. I have not personally seen anyone heal from vitiligo, but I have had read many cases where people do so I believe it is possible but personally I have healed myself from rosacea and hives and my daughter from psoriasis and eczema with some acne as well.
While I am thinking about it, the sun is not an enemy to our skin but rather our nutrition/diet/lifestyle; I was severely photosensitive during my chronic dis-ease but now that I am healed, I am back to tanning easily and feel energized by the sun. Although I always say moderation, since we do know long exposure to UV light either artificial or natural can cause damage so use your best judgement but do not be scared of the sun-it is your life source, and it is needed for a strong immune system.
Did you know green tea consumption has been shown to help prevent your skin from burning so have the MATCHA girl!!!
There are many causes from skin disorders:
-bacterial imbalances in the GUT and the Skin
-weakened immune system
-intestinal permeability
-chronic illnesses such as thyroid, kidney/liver, lymphatic system stagnation, immune system dysfunction and other dis-eases.
-inflammatory bowel dis-ease
-diabetes
-stress
Traditional treatment will say the only way to heal would be to take antihistamines, medicated creams, steroid injections, antibiotics, prescription medications, biologics but from my vast experience I have been able to achieve remission without these things, so I am here to share my story and observations. I will even share with you how to tackle “flare-ups” so they do not progress to a full relapse.
The guidelines I have followed, and I have given to my clients are simple but so effective. Remember dedication and consistency is key to healing naturally as it does take longer to experience relief because it is not a synthetic potent pharmaceutical but rather a lifestyle and sustainable practice that will serve you for years to come.
Mindset/Nervous System
Let’s start with one of the systems I was not aware of at the beginning of my journey causing more and more issues and turmoil until I addressed it. Our mind is such a powerful tool and we often get lost in the overwhelming world of MODERN Medicine full of fear and hopelessness making you feel you have no power or say in your own healing, health and body. If you have trouble with negative self-talk and mindset then breath work practices can help you clear your mind, hear your inner knowing and nurture your nervous system. It is important to address this because stress is the biggest trigger to any chronic dis-eases. —If you want some 1:1 help with this, book a 1:1 meeting with me and I will help you learn how to breathe effectively, empower you, and help you transform your mindset. When healing, we all need that sense of community and support so it is crucial to have a good support mentorship to help you grow and progress because each of us end up talking ourselves out of healing.
GUT/Intestinal Lining/Digestion
Step 1: Avoid all antacids because our stress levels in this modern life are high which is making our stomach acid low to begin with, 90% of us have a low stomach acid issue but it presents itself as “high stomach acid” because what little stomach acid we have is regurgitating back up into the esophagus, due to stress causing low magnesium level as well. “But Sam how can I heal my reflux and burning stomach and ulcers if I need to stop taking antacids”. Well first wean yourself off throughout the nutritional program and lifestyle program you are going to follow, the food and herbs I will be sharing help heal the linings of the digestive tract, help your nervous system, restore GUT health, improve absorptions thus helping you increase your nutrient absorptions which are vital for HEALTH and healing. Here is how I got myself off antacids and healed my GUT lining:
-cut out all gluten and wheat containing foods (do not cut out carbs though, carbs are essential, but wheat is not)
-avoid all alcohol
-do daily breath work exercises
-drink calendula/chamomile tea 1-3 times a day
-coconut water/aloe vera water
-lift weights
-adequate protein intake and macros and micros (sea moss)
-have organic apple cider vinegar (1 tsp diluted in water or tea) before 1-2 of your meals that day. I did breakfast and lunch because the ACV helps with nutrient absorptions and gave me natural energy without the caffeine.
-process your emotions on a daily basis, open up and express yourself (don’t hold it in anymore), find a community or mentor that helps inspire you and makes you feel safe and held throughout your journey.
I did a consistent nutritional plan for 9 months straight without 1 “cheat” and healed myself from it. You can do anything for 9 months! I know you can, especially now that you know that it can and will work if you do.
Liver/Lymphatic/Kidney
Your lymphatic system helps clean up your blood, organs and body so you can see how it is important to help it rid the body of the collection of debris. The lymphatic system does not have a pump, so it is up to us to help it circulate and expel. The largest lymph nodes are located around the diaphragm, so the breathing exercises here help pump it out, gentle lymphatic massages you do daily for yourself and even getting a professional lymphatic massage monthly will help your body maintain all this healing work you are doing for yourself. To make the lymph more fluid and thinner and easier to flow this is where avoiding the “Standard American Diet” is crucial and having a whole foods, minimally processed diet is our main focus.
“Your liver is a detox organ and it is meant to detox without needing help and it is pseudoscience to think otherwise”, I was told this by a doctor after I healed myself! I supported my liver with herbs, food and breath work and it helped it cleanse from excess toxins and hormones helping me lose weight and feel better without the liver pain I was experiencing. This is true liberation, not being victim to chronic symptoms any longer.

I know I am an Herbalist, but I am also a Nutritionist and Holistic Health guide, and Food is medicine, Nutrition is Herbalism. You can take all the herbs but if you don’t change your nutritional plan and lifestyle, the herbs cannot help you especially long term and for life—I mean if your goal is to become free from chronic dis-ease then this is a hard truth but like I said keep and open mind and open heart—let your ego take the back seat. (I am here as the BIG SISTER energy you need in your life-here to hand you the hard truths but also extend my hand to guide you, you are not alone).
Let’s go over topical remedies:
-applying coconut oil or olive oil before getting in the bath
-applying olive oil after bath or shower when still a little damp
(I apply one of the following: olive oil (moderately comedogenic), neem oil, hempseed oil, sweet almond oil to my face and body as it is noncomedogenic)
-rosemary
-green tea
Nancy, founder of Gameela Skin has a whole product list including rosemary and green tea cleansers. I love her face mask applicator brush and face masks. She has oil cleanser as well, be sure to check it out here and if you have questions about specific issues be sure to ask her here.
If you are wanting to get to the root of your skin health issues, book a consultation with me and we will come up with a holistic plan for you.
How to handle flare ups?
If you do the nutritional plan you will clear up so much within but there are times where maybe you are more stressed or you are eating processed foods and catch yourself spiraling back into poor lifestyle choices.
The goal is to make your body a clean slate again, if you done it once you can do it again.
Simplify your entire meal and eating schedule. Carve out time to do self-care breathing exercises and lymphatic massages. Increase your water intake, fruit intake, herbal tea intake. Decrease your caffeine intake but green tea or matcha in moderation are good for your skin. Get some sun light daily, it is essential in GUT health, Vitamin D, circadian rhythm and so much more. There you go, you are on your way back to clearing up the flare-up and leading a healthy and happy life full of confidence, freeing up time and money to spend it on the things you love to do. You got this! Stop letting the mainstream news and people complicate health. Your body is your temple, and you are in so much more control than you have been led to believe.
Let’s make 2025 your best and healthiest year yet, Sam
