How to replace Tylenol and Ibuprofen with herbs and food.
A medical memoir that will help millions.
Around 24 years ago I dislocated my knee for the first time and it happened to be on my 12th birthday. I was at gymnastics and it happened, the ambulance had to be called, my leg was crooked and my knee was not at all where it should have been, the pain was excruciating. I began taking Ibuprofen daily not too long after, it seemed I was having NSAIDs daily throughout high school and early adulthood. It amazes me how much is just written off as “normal” but at the time I let life and all the pains, chaos, medical establish consume my life and I was not navigating anything it seemed, just a passenger in my own life.
It is no wonder my wheezing was getting worse, my GUT was inflamed with so much wrong with it, I had frequent headaches, migraines (ocular), joint pain, then all of a sudden in 2013 I was diagnosed with Chronic Urticaria and also another “mystery autoimmune disease with no name”. I was on 4 Benadryls a day, 4 Zantac a day, along with any other OTC medication to get me through a day. I was having to carry Epi-pens with me due to the swelling that was happening in my throat and face. After about 6 hours in my ICU nursing shift I was starting to have to untie my shoes because my feet and legs would swell so badly that I could not bend down to empty the urine bag and my feet felt like tight balloons that would pop at every step.
I was chronically needing NSAIDs because I did not know anything about inflammation, herbalism, nutrition, lifestyle, and SELF-CARE.
So I write all of that to paint you the picture of how my life used to be for years and years until I was at the end of my rope but something in me told me that there is more to life than all this suffering.
Changing my eating habits, I mean radically changing and committing had me seeing relief in as little as 4 days, I said relief not total remission, YET!
NSAIDs block natural body chemicals that dilate the blood vessels that go to the kidneys, this decreases blood flow to the kidneys.
I was able to start eating clean and starting slowly and gently cleansing my body with my specific morning routine and eating practices. The body does not need extreme detoxes, it needs real food, periods of no snacking, and trading your Oreos or Diet Coke for fruit, protein or a medicinal herbal tea.
Here is how you can start feeling better so you can avoid taking NSAIDs or other over the counter medications.
